My laptop has a SPDIF jack and the normal 3.5mm headphones can't go all the way in but still works. I search and it said that the SPDIF was digital sound. ANyone know how to make it fit or a digital headphone?

The SPDIF jack is for a digital speaker setup. You can always find a speaker setup that has a headphone jack on it, but to the best of my knowledge there is no such thing as a SPDIF based headset.

ah damn. I guess I can try the other jack and see if it works.

What do you mean the 1/8" jack wont go in all the way? Is there a lose connection, or does it stick out? Is there static on the line if you move the connection while playing something? Give me some detail here and tell me what sort of headset you are using.

I am using the regular headphones that u use for for CD-player, w800. There's no static on the line even if I move it, its just that its loose. I just want to get a headphone that fits tight so that it won't get pull out by a small jerk. Pic:

Well, right off the bat there seems to be a good enough mechanical connection to allow proper signal. Now we know that you are using the proper plug (sorry to bring that up, but ya know some people...eh). At least we know you're using the proper type of plug. Have you tried different phones? I have a set with a 3/4" length to the jack that was meant for sound board work. A standard jack length should be about 1/2" length. RadioShaft used to sell stero adapters that would correct it if that wre the problem. Also, some ports have a very stiff contact point and you may have to use extra pressure to get it in all the way. I assume you tried that, but just in case I thought I'd suggest it. If none of that helps, then the best option I can think of (outside of a digital speaker setup with a headphone port) would be to replace the jack it'self. If you are scared of using you soldering iron with your notebook then dont even consider it. It should be a pretty straight forward job though and shouldnt take but a few minutes. The jacks can be had for a buck or two. All you have to do is open the case and measure the space you have for the jack. Of course you will void your warranty, but if that kind of work doesnt bother you then I dont see that warranty loss would either. Other than that, nothing jumps to mind. You can always try to get it fixed by the manufacturer, but I doubt they will. Anybody else have any ideas?
