does'nt explain why so many are for sale

Actually I think it's because they have absolutely terrible reception. At least that's why I sold mine.
That and, it was a very popular phone, and now everyone is upgrading

I think there are a few major reasons why you may see so many T68i's for sale......
1. There are so many out there (you can get one thru AT&T, Cingular or T-Mobile, plus being a tri-band they are available all over the world), so it's kind of like the Ford Explorer - the more put in the market the more you will see them up for sale
2. While the phone is cute, packed w/features, easy to use, high "fun" factor, phenomenal battery life, and a whole host of other niceties, it truly sucks at the one thing most people require from a phone - the ability to place a call and hold a signal. This phone, no matter what firmware upgrades have come out, has been plagued with very poor RF performance, regardless of the network it is used on, and the overall opinions found seem to be hit or miss at best. As me how I know.
3. The phone is very, very small, ala some of the new Nokias, and while people may make an emotional or impulsive purchase at the store, many grow to dislike such a small phone after the novelty wears off, and learn that a larger phone or a flip-style phone is more comfortable for them. As me how I know.
4. While the notion of a color phone is very, very appealing, once you hold a T68i up to a Samsung A500, S100/S105, Motorola T720i, Nokia 6100/6610/7210, Sanyo 5150/5300, or even the new LG's, you start to realize that the color on the T68i is inferior. With 256 color and that little screen it just can't compete with what is out there today. Therefore you are probably seeing alot of T68i owners wanting to trade up to something nicer. Ask me how I know.
That's my .02. Thanks for listening.

To tell ya the truth...After listening to all the complaints about the T68i's RF performance, it honestly has something to do with the service providers. Now, before you lash out at me, i have friends and have heard tons of reviews from Europe, and there simply is not a RF issue with the T68i there. Why?, becasue their networks in Europe are more advanced then ours in NA...why? Because their landlines suck and it is cheaper for them to use cells (info from my cousin in England, correct me if im wrong) so the companies create highly advanced service, such as VOD (video on demand) and stuff. After hearing all the bashing, i am still getting a T68i...why? Becasue where I live (in Toronto) there are hardly any complaints about the phone because there is enough service in my area, and I dont travel or drive around a lot, so i could care less wether it loses its signal or not when you drive...maybe in the future when i do drive often and need the phone for SAFTEY reasons, then i will consider a stronger phone in the RF department, but for now, the T68i offers me the cheapest BT option, with tons of great features that i will actually use...i have absolutly no need for 65k screen, what good would it do for me here in NA? All it does is suck the battery life out of the phone, and looks good...well, i dont get sold on that, in my opinion it would be money well wasted...just my opinion guys. My 3 cents, lates!

i bought a heavily used t68i about 3 months ago.... never did i have a problem with rf. i guess it depends on the actual phone in question and not the overall model...

haha, today I called tmobile about my t68i's reception problem, and about the fluxuation, he said it was normal

ive had three t68's (one m, one mc, and an i)
all had the SAME RF, it was not "horrid" but it was not great, its average.
its the NETWORKS that have the problem, gsm in NA is just over 1.5 years old, so it SUCKS overall.
the reason there are so many for sale, is because this is howardforums, people swap in and out of phone usally every 6 to 12 months.
that means that last year EVERYONE was buying t68i's(which is true) now new phones are on the way out, and people are selling them.
its the same reason in about a year from now you will see MANY MANAY T610'S.
dont forget that when the networks started to cary this phone, it took a MASSIVE price drop, and unlocking became easy so there another major reason, they are "cheap" now.

i belive the signal quality really depends on the carrier, i used mine in Hong Kong for a few months, and signal was great. however coming back to the states i quickly realized the quality is much lower. I live in a small town outside san francisco, i get excellent reception in the city, but when i travel out i get at most 3 bars. I might just switch to Verizon, my dad has it and he gets perfect signal quality wherever he goes. Ill probably keep my T68i for whenever i travel out of the states, tri band works great
