Well I know talking salary is a little iffy but its a forum with monikers. So, Here it goes...

Ive been talking to employees who hit there tiers... and im getting all sorts of answers on how much the commission check is. I get some that say 1500 others say 4500... And I know coming from a agent that cell phone people lie about a lot of things such as sales for the day, salary, and how good of a "closer" they are. (who else thinks mobile solutions takes the idea of the movie Boiler Room to Far)

So, I know they are better salesmen then others, these three guys are about the same in sales and yes they seem to have the same amount of add a lines...

thanks-

the 1500 are correct and the 4500 are correct. It really depends on if you meet your quota, depends on the teir, it depends on your market and you store.

It could vary that much in a single store depending how much you want to do and how agressive you are. Being in the cell phone business is cut throat. You gotta greet the customer first. some people like to take turns - you may think thats going to work but most of the time you will see someone else not following in line/breaking in line. It doesn't work. You gotta think for #1.

Find out what the customer wants first. ask 5 questions or so then say you RECOMMEND this for the customer. That way the customer thinks that you have come up with something that fits his/her lifestyle/needs. I found upon doing that you get a better relationship with the customer and inturn they tell their friends. I haverage 5 referrals a month. You may say not worth it... but over time that adds up. If you do this you can make more money.

Also - while out in public you can talk to people - if your at a business talk to them - what you do is not restricted to in the store. You can meet/greet and sell outside the store. Get customers to make appointments if you do that. They will feel its on a more personal level that your taking a set time out of your schedule to do that for them.

the $4500 can be met doing the extra things in a low traffic store. or somewhat easy in a high traffic store.

Depends. You have to sell your *** off. You have to be able to take being screwed over lightly. For example, I have around $200 in chargebacks this month from reps that flipped my features. There isn't anything I can do about it.. they can always say the customer requested the new media bundle at $14.99 instead of the $19.99 they were paying. And don't forget the new personal blackberry plans. I have had customers come to me saying their blackberry wont connect anymore and low and behold.. someone took off the BES and put the cheaper BIS package on without asking the customer. Between the chargebacks, and the what seems to be around 40-45% tax on commisson it's not that easy unless you are as shady as the rest of the reps in the area and are busy as hell.

It depends on your market, customers and traffic coming into your store. In my area there are high volume stores (big comissions) to low traffic kiosks (small comissions). Alot depends on the traffic coming thru the store but you can also bring in your own traffic. Some stores do not even have enough ops come into the store for all the sales reps to make goal, some have so much they can not handle the amount that flows through the door.

The older the age of the customers, the less features, simple handsets, equal lower comissions. Younger, wealthy customers means fancy, flashy, newer style handsets full of features, which equal bigger comission checks. Business customers, PDAs, Blackberrys, equal expensive handsets, $40 plus features, huge comission checks.
