I've been researching the 3125 release since the review I posted on the 8500. Here's what I have found... If you note the specs, it lists it comes with a 1150mah battery. Now, get this... The Star Trek originally comes with an 750mah battery but you can order one from HK or UK that is 850mah. In order to fit an 1150mah battery on this phone, it will require a larger battery cover. I'm 99% sure that the Cingular 3125 is thicker because of this reason. If you have doubts about this, I actually went to mobileplanet and looked up the 1150mah battery. What you will find is a pre-order for it AND find that it comes with a larger battery cover! Something to keep in mind! -- miguel |

DarkJedi, I agree with what was said above on the no-plan buying price without a new contract or extension. Non-premier the 2125 use to be around $400. without a plan when they first came out. The premier price without a contract on the same 2125 was about $325, if I remember right. Its all about the long-term bucks they rack up on the plans. |

Hopefully, Cingular's ROM won't contain new problems and will have addressed the know shortcomings in the original ROMS associated with this device. We'll know soon.

Now with that $100 rebate - Dude - the phone will basically cost me $60 bucks Now that must really sting those guys that bought them for $400+ By the way - it does come with the bigger battery and bigger battery cover - but not a big deal on size factor - and huge + on battery life The only thing that stinks - is the mini-usb. I dont mind the Micro-SD - cuz I just bought a TYTN and got 1 for that - so I can use it in this puppy. This phone really compliments the TYTN - cuz the TYTN is good for the serious typing stuff - and this is the Club Phone At least it has the Y-Jack for the headphones - so you can charge and listen at the same time. It does have the Direct Push - so good to go on exchange WoooOOT! |

Is there a registry tweak to allow the speakerphone to stay enabled when you close the flip? Currently it ends the call. |

I did get the form for the $100 mail in rebate. I tried to get them to match the offer on the internet but they said it would be the same price after I receive the rebate. I showed them that the phone on the web was oly $149.00 before the rebate but she told me that all the rebates filed for people that order the phone online would be rejected since you have to include the receipt with the rebate form. If the rebate was available for the online purchase it would show online like the rest of the phones with mail in rebates.

I also am curious if I would be able to exchange in store or if they would require me to go through the web. Sad that I really noticed this issue once I really got it all set up to match what I had and wanted on my smartflip. Thank God for sprite and 30 day return/exchange policy I guess. Still wondering if everyone elses phone feels solid in hand because my smartflip does, but the 3125 really doesn't which is weird.

The hinge seems ever so slightly beefier on the 3125's, the material around the external screen is slightly less reflective on the 3125, etc. Yes, I'm obsessive-compulsive, and notice these things. If you have a loose unit you should exchange it.

1. Go to the Contacts Screen 2. Press the Menu softkey 3. Select the "Sim Manager" option Copy the contacts to your phone. The only "issue" is that if you have multiple contacts for a person (like home and cell number) you will have an entry for each of their contacts. You can sync the phone to Outlook and merge them into one contact, if that bothers you. |
