Will 3125 satisfy my needs?

Besides wanting WM5, there are certain things I need:
-loud clear speakerphone
-excellent reception in fringe areas or usually low bar areas(nokia or razr comparable)

Will it satisfy?

While it won't break your ear drums, I think you will find the speaker phone to be adaquate and very audible in most environments. I have had this as an imate and now the Cingular 3125. I find that the reception is a s good as any other smartphone I have owned including PPC models with the exception of the TyTN which I had to try-out for a few weeks. That was the best. Otherwise, I think this is an great device especially if you like the form factor. As with all devices on the smartphone platform, this is much more of a phone than PDA and it excels in that area, IMHO.

Thanks for the reply. How would you compare the reception versus non-smartphones?

Also, can anyone compare those two things to that of the CU500?

I would say it is as good or better than most phones. You might try looking at some of the strings over in the smartphone forum here at HF if you haven't already as there are theads along these same lines.

I dont think it's fare to compare 3125 to a CU500 .. 3125 is a 3G smartphone whereas CU500 is just a 3G phone ..

3125 is NOT a 3g phone... i wish, it depends if you need the smartphone features or 3g features... goto phonescoop.com and do a comparison and see which one you like best. if you want to have fun and play around with it, you cant go wrong with either

I have both the 3125 and the CU500, I don't live in a 3G area so the CU500 acts as a regular GSM phone. as far as RF/Reception is concerned I would say they are on par with each other, but when it comes to earpiece and/or speakerphone volume the CU500 blows the 3125 out of the water. i'm in no way saying the anything against the 3125. The CU500 is just that LOUD. I have actually had to turn the earpiece volume down under normal conditions.
