Attempting to merge a PDA and a phone

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have a palm zire 31 that i use for scheduling like work and school, MP3 player, and remote for televisions. I want to combine that with a phone for cingluar service. I've looked at the palms a bit, but other than that I cant seem to find any others. A keyboard dosent matter.
My requirements: in order of importance
GSM (cingular)
Palm OS
"MP3" support for ringers and music (A2DP a plus)
flash card slot (I will be upgradeing to 1GB card so format not important)
IR port
Camera (1mp=< perfired)
WIFI of some sort (non cingular data) whole town is a hotspot

Thank you.
edit: almost forgot price i'm lookin for is $400 MAX

No phones exist that meet your specifications, due to the inclusion of Palm OS. If you remove that requirement, there are a few WinMo phones that could meet your needs.

ok, then what phones that have WinMo whould there be?

You could get an iPaq and a Compact Flash GPRS card.

You could get the 8125 now, or the 8525 when it comes out shortly.

dont want to burst your bubble, but palm os is dead, the new palm PDA's are using windows now.

besides wm5 is way more powerful anyways.

The new 3125 has everything you want except the Palm OS. I broke the Palm habit earlier this year and haven't looked back.

Not quite dead, but definitely less than "alive and well." The new Treo 680 runs Palm OS as does the 700p. But there is no Palm OS phone that is WiFi-capable; the current OS apparently can't run the phone radio and a WiFi radio. (Whether or not Access Linux for Palm gets off the ground and supports phone + WiFi is anybody's guess.)

As far as "powerful" goes, it depends on what you want to do. Obviously, if you want a phone with WiFi and/or full multitasking, WM5 is the winner. If you want a fast PIM suite, fewer taps/clicks to run apps, and a ton of free software available, Palm has the edge.

Phones don't need WIFI. Period.
