My brother had a dell handheld and it was stolen so now he wants to get a smartphone. He likes the 700P but would like to use his BT GPS that he used with his dell PDA. would a GPS that was made for a windows PDA work on a palm smartphone?

I don't think so. I think the only one that will working on a Palm OS smartphone is the one Palm sells with Palm OS software and maps. Whats the model name? Maybe someone here uses it...

Bluetooth is a universal technology. Windows, Palm, Linux, Symbian, whatever, a bluetooth device should work the same on any OS (granted that the OS can handle it). Your brother's bluetooth GPS receiver should work fine with his 700p, but he'll need some PalmOS GPS software. Depending on the receiver he has, he may need to buy a specific program (for example, I've heard Garmin's GPS software only works with Garmin BT GPS receivers, while TomTom will take almost any BT GPS receiver.
