Is the Rokr unlockable?

not asking how, but is it unlockable?

I am planning on buying one and bringing to a store to unlock it.

Will they be able to unlock my phone? or is there a easy self done process?

Yes, there is vendors here that can unlock it. Easy self done process, no, and can not be discussed here.

Unlocking the E1 will have to be the testpoint method. but its unlockable!

What's a testpoint method?

As far as HoFo is concerned, per forum rules, you have to make all unlocking inquiries through the marketplace, which usually involves an unlocking fee.

If you don't like that rule, I'm sure there are other forums you can go to to discuss unlocking.

"testpoint method"

I pesonally have no idea, maybe U should PM him or google it.

Testpoint method:

It basically "kills your phone" its a way to bypass the bootloader.
to bypass the bootloader the phone will activate the flash chip only.
the flash chip and the phone will be recognized as a "S Blank Neptune LTE"
Once you unlock the phone the phone will return back to the normal mode as a Motorola P2k phone.

Testpoint grounds the phone to activate the flash chip thats it.

Thanks a lot!
I understand what it means now...
Like when a manufactuer tests a phone before selling it.

I guess? what do you mean testing a phone before selling it?

Before a celluar phone company sells their phone to cell phone companies, they have to make sure only the cell phone company can use it. Just like what they did with the ROKR.
They have one phone, make tests on it, when it is what they want -
they duplicate the phone...
Like how phones are always being created,
CPUs are being made better / faster,
Cars created to consumer needs,
etc.

Not exactly, testpoint is a method of under-control "killing" your phone...it is dead. Then it is brought back to life through hardware/software manipulation by a technician: http://www.howardforums.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=27723. Some good advice to your question is to search some other forums and become familiar with the techniques required for your phone. Not something to attempt without either past successful experience, or the technical training. There is another way to unlock - from your carrier. For example, you purchase your phone from your carrier along with a 2-year contract. When the contract is up, you own the phone and the carrier is obligated to provide you with the unlock code. My wife's E1 is unlocked that way - from her carrier. Good luck.
