Has anyone had any luck with the JAVA(J9) install from Palm? I followed their directions, but it sent my Treo 650 into a endless loop, and now when I restore my data nothing works... Looks like another hard reset... Just curious if I am missing something, I was looking to try Opera for a while, I have heard good things recently about it. Any thoughts from the Treo wizards here? I have a Sprint Treo 650 running 1.13a. TIA.

I got java installed just fine. It must be conflicting with some other installed app on your device. But just skip Opera, it sucks. It's fast & all, but even if you get java installed w/o crashing, Opera is too buggy & unstable on it's own anyway. I tried it for a week or so and I couldn't change my settings w/o it crashing, and half the time when I'd get it to work & be surfing around it'd just crash for no reason. Try Xiino or Web Pro instead. They're much better & don't require java.

Well after another hard reset, I tried to install it all on a "fresh" OS. It still didn't work...Oh well... I sent you a PM Kabuki for the web pro. But your right, its just not worth the time to get it all to work... It makes the Treo just a little to unstable for my liking...
