Has anyone been able to do this through activesync (explore)? When I try to copy files from the phone to my PC I get a dialog box showing the data transfer, but it never appears on my PC. However, I can copy files to my phone from the PC without any problems.

are you looking in the right folder on your phone? are you opening up my window device then putting it either in my docs or storage card, then go to file exploer then looking for it?

It doesn't matter where the files are stored on the phone. I can see the files just fine from my PC. The problem is that I can't copy any files from the phone to my pc.

Reboot both the phone and the computer. Looks like a software hangup.

Rebooting the phone and the PC didn't help. Has anyone with a 3125 been able to copy files from their phone to their computer? I tried using the latest version of ActiveSync v4.5 beta (build 5059), but that didn't help either. I'm beginning to wonder if the Cingular firmware has this functionality disabled.

Yes, I've taken files off the phone to my computer.

That is odd. You may have some USB issues or a corupt install of ActiveSync. Take note that even if you unistall and reinstall ActiveSync the registry entries and the Program Files folder will still be left, so if the coruption is in the registry entry or in the program files then it will continue to act up. I suggest you uninstall ActiveSync, then go to Windows Explorer and then to Programs Files and delete the ActiveSync folder. Then *doing this at your own risk and understanding if you do something wrong you can mess up your computer pretty bad* go to Start, Run and type in regedit.exe. In the registry go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE, then MICROSOFT, then ACTIVESYNC. Now before you delete the ActiveSync folder make a back up of your registry, to do this click on File, Export. Give the file a name and save it to a CD or a flash drive, just in case after you delete and reboot your computer Windows starts acting hairy you can restore the registy. Now Delete the ActiveSync folder, and reboot your machine. If everything is working good, reinstall the non beta verison of ActiveSync, set up your partnership and then try copying files from your phone to the computer and vise versa. If this doesn't work then I don't know what to tell you. Remember editing the registry can seriously mess up your computer, do this at your own risk and understand that I am NOT responsible if you hose your machine.

how bout just getting the phone contacts to sync to the comp???
Posted by: Deez3436
I can get everything to sync just fine without any errors. I tried doing a fresh install of ActiveSync and I'm still having the same problem. Since I'm probably the only one on here with this issue, perhaps my cable is bad.
