FIDO P800 Settings Mail example and GPRS

GPRS
Control Panel --> internet Accounts
edit FIDO GPRS:
Account name: whatever (mine is FIDO GPRS)
Connection Type: GPRS
click "advanced"
Server Tab
user name and password required: checked
user name: fido
pass: fido
Address: internet.fido.ca
Log In Tab
Get IP address automatically: checked (everything below is 0000)
Get DNS Automatically: checked
Proxy Tab
use proxy server: unchecked
everything below is blank
Other Tab
Enable PPP extensions: checked
Authentication: Normal
QOS tab
header compression: unchecked
Precedence: Subscribed
Delay: subscribed
Reliability: Class 3
Peak Rate: Subscribed
Mean Rate: Subscribed
go back to the "Internet accounts" window
Preferred is FIOD GPRS the account described above
I have had problems in the past that while making changes I have accidentally added a dot in my setup info. Be sure to check for this.
Mail Settings
Applications --> Control Panel --> Messaging accounts (on the Connections Tab)
Click "New"
Basic Tab
account name: I use Sympatico...this is not important
Your Name: Whatever Name you want to show up (Sean Cooper)
email address: xxxxxxxxxx@sympatico.ca (replace with yours)
Connection Type: POP3
Internet Account: Preferred or Choose an account (GPRS)
Inbox Tab
User name: b1nxxxxxxx (same as your login name typically)
Password: your mail password
Download: up to you. I use Just Headers to speed it up
Shedule Button --> I don't use this.
Outbox Tab
Outgoing Mail Server Address: gprs.fido.ca
Use SMTP Authentication: Unchecked
Advanced Tab
Secure Connection: Unchecked
Outgoin Mail Port: 25
Use MIME encoding: Checked
Incoming Mail Port: 110
Secure Password authentication: Unchecked
done --> Go check your mail
