So now why did this happen ?

Phone is a razr, I make my own ring tones, I put a high pass filter on them. Well today my speaker is crackling like its blown. 3 other people use these ring tones, and never once had an issue. What can cause this ?

well, did you also put a low pass filter on your ringtones?? did you amplify your ringtones?? what setting do you have your gain table volumes set to??

I usually put a low pass and high pass filter on my ringtones, boost the mids and raise up the highs slightly and only amplify 1 to 3db more

Nope just a high pass, did nothing else. I don't mess with gain tables

What do you set the low pass and high filter at ?
