Blackberry browser slowed down after update

I just updated to version 4.2 of the Blackberry Desktop Software. After synchronizing with my 7520, I noticed that the Blackberry Internet browser is like 100 times slower than before I updated. Also, images do not display unless I first go to Select Mode and download the image first. I believe I have all the browser settings the way I used to, which allowed for all Java and image display for both WML and HTML. I tried using MS IE emulation and Blackberry emulation with the same results.
1) Did the 7520 Internet browser get "updated" after I synchronized with the desktop software?
2) Is the v4.1.0.273 build the latest software for the 7520? Is that the actually the "firmware"? Does this software/firmware get updated when I synch w/the Blackberry Desktop software?
3) Has anyone encountered a similar problem after an update?
I suppose I'll have to eventually turn to my provider (Sprint/Nextel) or RIM for help, but I thought I would try here first because the people on this forum are often far more knowledgable, particularly when it comes to dealing with Nextel.
Thanks-Brian
