Black V3 Keypad Light and Buttons

I just purchased a one month old V3 off my friend and it has a small problem with the keypad.
Problem 1 - Sometimes when you press a button on the keypad it will randomly press another button instead. e.g. If I press 9, it will call. But it's not just the buttons on the keypad, but it also happens to the volume buttons in the side. So it might be a software error, and not the actual keypad.
Problem 2 - The keypad isn't very bright. I have compared my phone to other Black V3's and my keypad is not very bright.
How could I fix these problems? Could a solution to the first one be simply flash my phone? Thanks in advance.
