I just bought the w315. I know it's a very simple and basic phone but I was hoping I would be able to add pics and ringtones. I have put one of each in every \usr and \snd folder I have found with Bitpim but none show up on the phone. I'm hoping someone here with more smarts than I also has the w315 and can give me a couple of clues on how to accomplish this.
If this is just not gonna happen with this phone I would also appreciate knowing that so I can quit doing this:

Absolutely. I've even had multiple email conversations with them. The latest version of MPT will not install the modem. Windows XP SP2 will find it and install it, then MPT will connect to the phone but the Multimedia button is greyed out. I have, at MPT's suggestion, tried to change the phone to almost every version of Motorola and LG phones. If I use v710 or V3cm the Multimedia lights up but will not transfer anything to the phone because it fails to initialize. I'm currently waiting (impatiently) for the next upgrade of MPT to see if it supports MM as I was told it would. By this time, frankly, I really don't expect that MPT will live up to it's promise.
As a last resort I have sent Alltel an email asking them to tell me the truth about whether or not they have locked the phone down so that only ringtones, etc., downloaded from their Axcess sites will work. I don't really expect anything positive from them either.
I'm pretty much a "glass half empty" person so I will be pleasently surprised if either of the two come through for me.
