I'm looking for a new cell phone and I just don't stay up on these things, so I just don't even know where to start looking.
First off, I use Cingular, so that might narrow it down a little.
My budget is probably ~$200 at the most, although obviously I wouldn't mind spending less.
I don't use the phone for business or as my regular home phone, so I guess I would describe myself as a relatively light user.
I don't think I would use bluetooth, a camera, video, internet access, e-mail, etc. So that stuff isn't very important to me. I would like a speakerphone so I can use it in the car without holding it to my ear.
I do carry my phone in my pocket, so something relatively small and flat is important to me. Maybe a slider or flip phone. Something nice and flat like a Razr would probably work better than the candy-bar shape phones. If it's a flip phone, it would be nice to be able to see the time and who's calling without flipping it open.
What I would like is something simple to use (good interface), rugged/well built, good sound quality, good reception, and cool looking would be nice. Oh yeah, and a speakerphone. I have no brand preference.
So let's hear some suggestions!

Hmm I dont know if you think Motorolas have a good interface but if you dont really mind, I recommend the Motorola PEBL and the Motorol SLVR L7.

I've never used a Motorola phone, so I'm not sure about the interface.
The SLVR seems kind of big to carry in my pocket. The PEBL looks ok, I'll add that to my list.
Do either the regular Motorola RAZR or the LG CU500 seem to fit what I'm looking for?

Well the CU500 does fit your description but its about 250-300 USD on EBAY unless you go to a Cingular Store and get it with a contract then it probably be less then 150. And yes the RAZR fits your decription as well.

Well, I'm due for an upgrade, so the RAZR or CU500 would probably fit under my budget. Sorry to throw a monkey into the wrench.

Any other suggestions?

Well thats all I can recommend under $200. I would just for the CU500 if you can get a good deal, if not then get a PEBL online.

I suggest the new HTC, Cingular 3125. Call cust care to order it, if you order online, you will pay 300$ out of pocket and then receive 150$ rebate. I like the cu500 because of the 3G and you would be able to watch Mobi TV and other great stuff.
