Is the KX-5 hard to slide?

I have a KX-5 one of the first stock from US Cellular, and im having a really hard time sliding it open with one hand. It seems to have alot of friction when sliding it, I played with my friends samsung slider phone and a motorolla and theirs seem to slide effortlessly with just a finger. I also tryed the other kyocera slider phones at best buy for Amp'd or Boost mobile, and they slid very easly too. just not my kx5. Is that how all KX5 are or did i get a defective one?

I just took a look at one of the first KX-5's that we recieved and while I wouldn't say it is hard to open, it would be safe to say there is quite a bit of friction.

well Id hope there was some friction, I dont want the phone to slide open when it wants too

but unless u are seriously weak in the fingers......then its pretty simple

Well I took mine in to exchange today. The new one is much more smoother, still not as fluid as teh Samsung and Motorola Slider phone, but definatly much better than the original i had, so maybe i did get a defective one.

lol not really mine was hard to slide ever since i bought it lol i realised that cause when my friends got theirs they were diferent ..easy to slide and the rubber would stay put lol....

yeah mine has a lot of friction too. That could be a good thing but not on a slider, mine is wearing slight grooves into the faceplate...my rubber also sticks out....

i've had my slider since january.... all kx5's made back then were buggy... the rubbers stick out and there's so much friction in the sliding that its carved behind the faceplate lol suxs.. oh and now 10 months later my down, right, back and call keys dont work at all/ my screen turns copletely black out of nowhere and my ear speaker doesnt work at all(this is when u find out the real value of voice dialing and bluetooth lol)....the only thing keepin me with my slider is knowing that a nokia slider is coming to criket soon lol

yeah mine slides pretty rough too but i dont care if it breaks it i usally dont have a phone more then 8 months and also my rubber thing was not staying in eithier so i pulled it off lol
