Red Led Indicator Light on 8700

When I first receive a new email message the light changes from the
green blinking to red blinking, after a while it reverts back to green
even if I haven't touched the device.

I would like to know if there is a way to make it so the light stays a
red blinking until I physically do something, ie check the message.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

sorry to bring back this old thread, but just surfing thtough, but mine stays RED until I do something.

it'll stay red if you don't acknowledge on ur berry that you have a new message (scroll the trackwheel/ball)

if you receicve a message, and u don't touch ur berry, it'll stay red. If you get a message and you wake it up, it'll turn green even if u don't open the message.
