homescreen background image placement issues (i320)

I'm having trouble changing background images on my i320 without them being cropped off. I have a homescreen setup with a transpartent top icon bar. When I change the background image to a 320x240 one i copied to my phone it crops off part of the image. (it is like it will only display what it would normally do if both top and bottom menu bars were there) Since the top one is transparent i can see more of the background image only it cuts it off.

For some odd reason all the pictures on my i320 that are "protected content" do not have this issue and fully display the entire image.

Anyone have a clue what could be going on? I've put a valign="top" command int he background tag, but that just moves it to the top, it still leaves the image cropped and smaller than it should be (thus i get about 23 pixels of the background color).

There must be some tag I'm missing??

I've seen something similar to this and I think I've found a fairley decent work-around. Here are the steps:

1. Go to Settings from the Start menu
2. Under the Home Screen menu, change the background image to Default
3. Open File Explorer and select your intended wallpaper
4. Chuck the phone into a fire

So no actual constructive ideas? Could it be so crazy that Samsung put something in place to try and "help" people that cripples things?

try checking your plugin layout - I had the same problem with a theme on my Qtek 8500, and it turned out to be simply that I'd set the xy coordinates of one of the plugins to be outside of their plugin height setting.

Something else very weird i found, it doesn't do it (crop the image) if you code the image as the default background in the xml.

That's how I always do it - have you tried saving your image over the top of one of the default ones that work - thats what I have to do with the in call screen. It's a pain in the a$$ but the only way I can change that screen.
