hey guys, this is gonna sound a little dumb, but about two months ago i got a new job and they provided me with a work issued phone. anyhow i stopped using my bell phone. today i went to turn it on and it asked for the unlock code. i for the life of me dont remember it. it's a samsung sph-680. any ideas on how to get in, without going through the 9999 possible combinations???

try the last 4 digits of the the cell phone's phone number

Posted by: CanadaPostRock

tried, didnt work. at some point i obviously set a lock, but i've tried every number combination i would normally use. i was hoping someone maybe had a key or something to completely reset the phone, without a usb cable, etc?

Thats about all the default factory passwords I saw.

Use a data cable and Kyocera tools software. That will give it to you.

Go to a Bell store and have them reprogram your phone. That way your user password will be reset to the last 4 digits of your cell number.

And how will they program it if the keyboard is locked ?

Posted by: shaner

User lock doesn't prevent reprogramming the phone. I've done it on Samsungs many times. Nokias are a whole other story.

The lock will prevent programming if it is set to auto lock, it will lock the phone except for emergency calls as soon as it is turned on. I beleive you will need to go into a store and ask them to send it out, you will probably need to provide your original receipt also. I think that is the only way.

Ooops. Just tried it on my wife's 740. Doesn't work. Sorry, looks like the phone does have to be sent to Samsung for service.

yah if the phone is locked out when it turns on you can't even toss it into programming mode

hello -
ive got a nokia 2125 that i'm also having the same issue with-
except-

mine just wont accept the password to allow me to program a "calling card" in the call settings menu.

i have transferred this phone from a friend (who also doesnt remember the code)

i can't get into the security settings either (thats odd...i used to be able to before?!)

help!

If you locked yourself out of the phone, then you must bring into the store and have them send out for a reprogramming, a store does not have the data cable to do that for you. If you dun got extended warranty....40$ for Loaner Phone + Programming Charge. 25$ Shipping Charge. 45$ Quote Fee Charge, and whatever it cost to get them to re-format the phone....good luck

I have the same problem with a Cingular HTC 2125...bought on ebay and the old owner forgot password....Is it always and only 4 digits? Any help please and thanks!

Posted by: steveoh

i have the same problem from my phone from ebay (other thread) i have tried everything (i am a dealer) i will call samsung tomorrow and let you know how it goes. i have tried everything. Samsung PST does not yield a 4 digit lock code, nor can you reset the phone using that software.
With all these cell gurus, nobody knows how to wipe a phone- especially samsung??

Posted by: sham1

No one including HTC or Cingular can provide info on how to wipe password from a locked 2125. Thats amazing to me since technology can manuever a sattelitte in orbit to watch my every move....
Any help would be appreciated from the Cell Phone Gurus here on the forums!!!
