I have been through many phones with Sprint. It does not seem that long ago I was still using the Sanyo 8200. I had no problems with my Sanyo, but I longed to switch and upgrade becuase newer phones were coming out. I then upgraded to a Samsung a900. The phone itself was very cool becuase of the slim factor, but with my daily phone usage, the battery did not last as long as it claimed it would. I then went to a Samsung a920 becuase I heard it was just like the Samsung a900, but it has a SD card, better battery life, and a better speaker. All this was true, but the Samsung internal antenna was giving me problems and the quality of the calls were just horrid. I then went to the LG Fusic. I got the Fusic and it seemed like LG had improved on quality on their phones. I loved the Fusic, till I realized that the phone it self was naturally buggy with no signs that it will be fixed anytime soon. Sprint in return let me bring back my fusic and let me choose a phone that was equal to a fusic (samsung a900 and a920) or downgrade to a lower phone. I did not want any phone they offered that was equal so I said I would downgrade. I choose the Sanyo 8400.
After going through all those phones and using the Sanyo 8400 for a few days now, I realize why I love Sanyo phones so much. Even though in the look department Sanyo's are not that innovative, and they are kinda a bulky. But as a phone, it does its job VERY WELL.
Heres a list of things I like about the Sanyo 8400:
1) The phone seems to get better signal and make clear calls in places where my Fusic would make choppy phone calls.
2) The phone appears to be built very solid and with qood quality.
3) The speaker phone is much louder and picks up my voice better than the Fusic and the Samsungs.
4) The menu's seem to be easy and to the point.
5) I like the option of call screening which samsung and lg seem not to have.
6) Even though the screen is smaller than the a900 and may be the Fusic, it looks much better and I believe its just the perfect size.
7)I like the fact that did not put the MP3 buttons on the front cover of the flip becuase when I had my LG, the key gaurd always seemed to turn off, and I would find my phone running Sprint's Music Store randomly.
8) The Sanyo does not appear to have any major bugs like having the phone vibrate every two minutes as my LG did.
9) The ringers are very loud and it has a voice tag ringer which tells you who is calling.
10) The web browser seems to load faster than the fusic loaded.
I think after the Sanyo 8400, I will get another Sanyo.
