8910 not sending pics (network authentication failed)

I just bought a new Audiovox 8910 off ebay for my girlfriend. It was brand new in the box. Alltel is my service and the phone claims to be for Alltel. It even says Alltel when you turn it on. I went and had it turned on to her number today and everthing went fine until I tried to send a picture. Our other phones send pics fine. We pay for that service. I took it back into the store and they played with it and even called there tech support with no luck. They are claiming the option to turn that on isn't even showing up in the phone. They questioned if it was a Verizon phone with Alltel software but I have my doubts. I also mentioned the fact that maybe the phone software is old and original. He said it is possible. He said the software did not match there latest that he showed. He tried to update the software with no luck. None the less I left with this phone that won't send pics. I should have my data cable tomorrow so I am wondering what I should do at this point. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

In my experience with 8910, it has issues when you try to send pictures when it is set to auto or Packet, i recommend switching to QNC and try again, also, check to see if you dont have 2 differnet numbers programmed into your phone, If the numbers are different and phone is programmed wrong it will keep it from accessing the picture messaging server. Also try to get on to Axcess Shop and see if you can download ringtones, etc. there are settings that you can change in the Web section if the Ports are not set up correctly you may need to check on the ip gateways in the phone.
