No 2 year contract would be nice as well.

You're also not going to get Free Nights and Weekends without a contract and a plan. I think GoPhone is the only provider that offers this still, but I don't think they have anything for internet. T-mobile To Go can give you internet via the Sidekick. It's unlimited internet, email, and texting for $1 a day OR the ability to call up to the amount you load, or a mixture of both, within whatever prepaid amount you put on. However, you don't get free nights and weekends, and the Sidekick is $400 The only way you're going to get what you want is via a contract and a service plan. Even then you're looking to pay AT LEAST $40 a month. |

While the $/Min ratio might not be the best, it's easily offset if you know lots of ppl with Verizon. Best part, unlike most prepay plans, you can choose ANY VZW phone. Not sure about anything else, as since I'm on contract, I haven't done research out of VZ plans, etc... |

EDIT: plus you are on Verizon service for cheaper than verizon which is nationwide coverage |

Are you sure you're calculating up the prices right or do you plan on using it a lot during peak-time? There are options with free texting and free N&W on Alltel prepaid. How long will it be until you're 18 and can go post-paid? I might be wrong but I don't think Metro should even be that expensive.
You've got to be in Tampa because that's the only place I know of that Alltel and Metro overlap but there might be a few others?? Before you decide also take a good look at the coverage maps. Metro, from what I understand, only provides coverage to a select few locations in the country and I'm not sure about how well they cover their area but I wouldn't jump off the deep end with them unless you know they will cover your area or they might have a free trial. I have heard they often have discount prices for their plans but the coverage isn't all that good in all their locations. However, if you will remain in Metro areas most of the time, they are a great deal. Carriers like Alltel, Verizon, Sprint, Cingular, etc. provide more of a network with coverage anywhere you go in the US and cover their areas significantly better. |
