Blackberry Pearl Unlock question

Hi there, i was just wondering if I were to get an unlock code for a T-mobile pearl, do i need a t-mobile sim card to be able to unlock it in the first place?
Cause I think I will be picking up a T-moblie locked pearl, but i dont have a t-mobile sim.

You might need one to get to the screen where you unlock the phone. I'm not sure.

Yeah, usually you can't get anywhere on any T-Mobile locked phone w/o having the T-Mobile SIM card in there in the first place.

No you don't need a T Mobile sim card. My BlackBerry Pearl is from T Mobile and I had it unlocked and never once had to use a T Mobile Sim Card. If you are seeking a place to unlock it then check the Marketplace Forum.

has anyone else got there mms to work on the unlocked pearl for cingular.
