whats up people, i recently joined Hforums,

just got me an unlocked Boost i855 with a Mike (Telus Canada) card in it, love the phone - only problem is when i try to send a text message it gives me this message :

Cannot Send: Transport Error

can anyone help me out please
thanks in advance

You'll need to edit the codeplug (or have it edited for you) if I'm not mistaken. The phone is programmed to use a certain "address" to attempt to send a message, and this "address" isn't compatible with your network. You'll need to find out the network settins for the Mike Telus network testing system, and then have the codeplug of the i855 modified using that info.... (I'm not 100% sure on all the specifics, or if I've even said this stuff properly, but its the general idea)....

There's a codeplug editing thread to ask to have this done in, and the stickies and and FAQ's in the software section will give you a better idea of what a codeplug is and all if you aren't familiar with it yet.....

you have to buy it, the most basic version (free) only changes stuff that you can do through the phone anyway for the most part but not the unlocking stuff. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

Ok i have the same problem.

now where in the cp is this address info that i need to change?

I tried playing around with some settings. Mo-sms was not enabled before now it is, but i get the error "cannot send: Encode Error" now instead

I have the same problem as MTLean and was wondering how do i access my CP in order to change over to the telus network address. Sorry, I'm really bad with these types of things! I have the information from telus just not really sure what i need to do with it. I have th motorola i855. functionality is perfect outside of the text message, transport error.

the mms server is what needs to be corrected.

Posted by: bakerc07

Sorry and how can i do this?

Posted by: yournamehere

you need to look at a working telus cp and copy the appropriate fields to your cp.

Okay ive gathered this much but i really dont know how to edit my CP. What do i need to do in order to edit the CP. I really dont know what i doing here! Sorry for this. i have the info from telus just not sure what to do with it.

post both codeplugs in the proper thread and i'll take a look.

where can i find my current CP?

Posted by: yournamehere

you need to do a LOT of reading before asking any more questions.

Honestly it may seem as tho ive taken the easy way out here, but ive been doing research for the last week now. The only information i have found to find my cp involves downloading RSS and hooking my phone to my computer in order to determine/mod my CP. Since i have a i855 my phone does not have a USB port and is not capable of hooking up to my computer. Since your responds are so short and to the point, it seems as though you are a busy person. Im hoping you can direct me towards so material that well inform me regarding finding my CP. I dont mean to be a neusonce here, im just really lost and ready to throw my phone against the wall here. anything you can do for me is much appriciated

your phone can be hooked to a computer via a data cable. EVERYTHING you need to know has already been discussed many times. you need to start at the beginning. how do you think i know this stuff? you need a data cable. you need rss software. you need instructions about how to use it. everything is here except for the legally protected software. (carrier rss) that discussion is not allowed here. good luck.
