Possibly stupid question about BB and synching with an Exchange server.

Right now I'm subscribing to 4smartphone and using a WM5 phone. If I switch to a BB, will I need a different company to host my e-mails, contacts, and etc since the OS is now a BB? Also does a BB perfectly synchronize with Exchange 2003? Meaning all contact entries, tasks, and etc. synchronizes with the BB? That's one problem Nokia has which is why I refuse to buy a series 60 phone.

i dont know the answer to the first part of your question, but the sync between the BB and exchange is flawless. Mail, contacts and calendar will be synced. (assuming there is a BES server talking to the exchange server)

Sync works the same via USB.

If you want wireless sync and 4smartphone doesn't offer hosted BES then you'll need to switch.

I concur that the sync with Exchange via BES is excellent.

Check with "4smartphone" to see if they offer BES hosted email.

they dont offer it. i just asked them the same question as i am switching from a wm5 device to the pearl. we will have to find a different provider....

That's the great thing about having your own domain name: You can go with whatever provider you want without changing email addresses, etc.
