Hey everyone Ive been looking around these forums for some help on this and I havent found anything. I completely changed the housing on my k700i and absolutely everything works except nobody can hear me when I speak. Any suggestions or does anyone know where and what the internal mic looks like on this phone?

should I just be buying a new mic off ebay perhaps?

Hiya mate, I had this same problem and my phones now away for repair. BUT I've now heard that if the screws holding the casing on are not tight enough, this causes the mic not to work. I found this out too late to fix it myself as I'd already sent mine away. Could you please let me know if this works for my own sanity!!!

Cheers

That did the trick buddy! I first took the mic out and then lifted the prongs on it a little bit to get a little more reach. And then when I placed it back I didnt push it in all the way, after that I just closed everything up and tightened the screws until they wouldnt tighten anymore(and stripped one or two so that aint opening no more lol) put everything back together and now it works again! Thanks alot for the info bro... hope this brings some sanity back

No bother mate. When i was looking at the circuit I couldn't identify the mic anywhere...where bouts was it?

its in the rear casing behind the circuit board... it makes contact with the piece that you plug your charger into... its really really small

just got a question about the k700i housing. did you get an OEM one? i'm considering getting a black housing for my k700i, but i'm not sure if i should stick to getting an OEM or a "grade A" one. any suggestions?

many thanks.

They're pretty much the same thing except the aftermarket keypad doesnt light up as well. Either way the housing should fit whether its oem or not. The one I got was oem.... http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

thanks for the advice and link! i'm gonna give the same eBay seller a try. i was kinda skeptical about getting a black housing cuz i wasn't sure what the quality of the housing would be like. (according to another eBay seller, there are no black OEM housing, but it would be "grade A" quality...haha, whatever that means.)

was it hard to change the housing?

It wasnt that hard at all, just have to be patient, especially for the two ribbon connectors behind the screen. Also the side buttons are a pain in the *** because theyre glued on the case itself so you have to pry it off slowly. If you run into any problems just come here and ask me, I can help you out.
