w800i/d750i --> k750i housing question

Hello!

I wasn't able to find my question through searching...

I was wondering for those of you who have the w800i or d750i, and changed your backplate to the k750i back place. Does the camera slide still activate once open? I read something about a metal clip that the k750i has that activates the camera. Is the clip expensive? Ebay has a lot of full k750i housings, but it seems to be cheap (around 25 dollars or so). I'm not sure if those parts are sufficient to make the slide active on the w800i/d750i.

I'm interested in purchasing one of the three phones, whichever i can come by cheaper on ebay, but i love the slide cover...and thus my question. Thanks in advance for your help!

the w800 has a switch to open the lens cover that also starts the camera.
the k750's lens cover slides back operating a switch to start the camera.
the d750 - not sure.

I'd go for the w800 (if i didn't already have an 810 !)

I would recommend cnn.cn as it has the closest resemblance to OEM casings.

I would not recommend ebay for w800 or d750 casings because some of them use the plastic mechanism over the metal clipping to secure the lens cover in place.

thanks for the reply guys!

i may have been unclear in my wording of the question.

my question is "if i got a k750i faceplate and stuck it on either a w800i or d750i, would it activate upon sliding it open like it would on the k750"?

thanks again

hhhmmmm - I would have thought so ... seeing as how the 750 also uses switches
to start the camera app.
