HELP!

I am trying to sync the address book from a broken 7250 to a new 8703. The 7250 track wheel doesn't work and the software has glitches so I can't even view the address book.

I tried to backup the 7250 on my comp and re-load the backup onto the 8703, but because the 8703 has a newer operating firmware, it will not accept the backup from the 7250.

to make matters worse, I tried to sync the address book to outlook, but the device is apparently set up for wireless synchronization, and as a result I can not sync with desktop applications. Since the trackwheel on the 7250 does not work, I can't turn off the wireless sync feature.

I'm stuck. Does anyone know how to send the addressbook entries from the 7250 backup to the 8703 while getting around the software differences?

Were you making regular backups of your 7250? If so you can do a selective restore of contacts, etc to your new BB

I tried doing a selective restore but it seemed like it wouldn't do it because it was a different operating version (7250 software vs 8703 software. thats the speculation)

I did manage to get it partially restored by taking the 7250 file, overwriting my blackberry (because I am doing this for a customer) with his address book, syncing my rim with his address book into outlook, and then re-sync it with his 8703. Some of the files transferred over, but I still got an error message, so only 41 of 822 addresses went over.

Are you on BES?
If so, have your BES admin send you an activation password. Then activate the new BB....problem solved (it will sync automatically).
