Which updates? I am using an iPaq hw6515 with a set of Logitech Bluetooth Stereo Headphones for iPod. I don't own an iPod but I bought these because the were on sales for $30 CAD. However, so far I have only been able to get these to work using the supplied dongle but not without.

Logitech also makes the same headphones in black to work with any device and also, I believe it is Logitech that supplies the HP headphones that you used to be able to purchase of HP's website.

So, I am confused. Why is it that I can't get these to work with my hw6515 without using the adapter? When I go through the BT setup and select High Quality Audio Device, then search, it times out before finding the Logitech headphones even though they are in discovery mode.

Any ideas? Should I try to locate the update noted above?

Please also see my BT & A2DP-related articles at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?cat=53 ; I've written several articles on these upgrades (HP 1.6, PDA2k etc), their compatibility issues etc

Thank you for the reply. I did read that article earlier through another link. Unfortunately, I am nervous enough doing a ROM upgrade, let alone a registry hack. I will just keep doing what I am doing for now. Someday, I am sure, there will be true compatibility among BT devices!

go to HP support, pick RX3715 or HX2755, you should find a2dp addon for your HW6515
caution: this is highly recommended to do backup before adding this update just in case
once your 6515 has a2dp (bt high quality audio), pair with code 0000
I also have Logitech (4 of them), all work with my laptop (CSR bluecore 4 with Bluesoleil), MDA, SDA, X51v without problem

The list is missing a number of A2DP headsets.

You will only need to make any registry hacks if you have skipping or timeout; by default, you don't need.

Speaking of the built-in A2DP support in the MS BT stack of the x51v A12, did your 590A work with it? (Just trying to track down whether it's a chipset / firmware problem of my 590A.)

The Ubixon headsets aren't listed. I've got the NC1 and the thing is incredible. The smallest, lightest A2DP headset by far. I'll post a review, but suffice it to say that when paired with the Treo 650, it works perfectly.

mda80, do you know what's the battery life on it? i was planning to either get that one or the one with the lcd screen on it. btw, what site you bought it from? only place i find so far is on ebay. thanks..

Posted by: md80

www.lubix.co.kr The one with the LCD has more battery life since it's a bit bigger. I got mine from sohocrates on Ebay and the item is legit.

yes, it works, but it is tricky to connect
after connected from axim, you need to trun it off and turn it back on, then connect from heaset by pressing mute/play button

Posted by: Bad Buddha

I also picked a lubix lc1 from that guy. I have a xv6700 and after messing with the a2dp hack got it working great. It is comfortable and easy to use.
Plus you can't beat the price.

Once again, FireDragon, you have given great info. Thank you SOOO much.
I got the Lubix NC1 for my UtStarcom ppp6700 and after the intial pairing got it to work. After turning it off, I could never get a connection to work again although the avrcp controlls worked fine.
So I took your tip for the 590a and applied it to the Lubix and Voila it works just fine.
Thank you and keep up the good work.

Does your Lubix w/6700 have any high pitch squeel/distortion? Mine does, but I can eliminate most of it using the MEX setting on the headset and using MortPlayer I adjust the equalizer high frquencies to almost rid myself of the squeel while keeping the quality of music pretty good.

Now all I need to do is grow my ears bigger so the headset will be more comfortable.

most of SE models released after september support a2dp (K610, Z610, Z710, W710, W850, K790, K800)

Posted by: Bad Buddha

It happens sometime , But only when I am nearer to a strong broadcast source like my wireless router or the powerlines near my jobsite.
Usually I fiddle with EQ settings and it's cool.
Regarding your ears I recomend a 3/4 inch auger bit and faith in modern medicine.

Posted by: Videonut

Thanks for replying. I've also noticed that the wireless router does cause some problems, same frequency.
I must say this headset has great sound quality so a small distortion is tolerable and most of the time it's non existent.
Like the idea of the drill, but instead I took off the rubber ear rings and put Jabra eargels on. They stay on pretty well, but I'm going to keep looking for a gel replacement that will go right in my ear canal. Might try to make my own if I can find the right materials.

Thanks, it indeed works! Great! Just posted an article to most PPC boards on all this problem, giving you the due credits

You do know that the Jabra eargels fit the Lubix perfectly, right? Couldn't ask for better comfort or stability.

Posted by: Videonut

Actually I am using a set of Jabra gels now. I've also modded an old headset, cut off the speakers, and notched the band so the lubix clips into it. Then I put a set of foam covers on the lubix. Great for long term listening, 4+ hours, with zero ear fatigue

actually i can not even edit it as well, as only Moderators has that capability...

there is certainly nothing wrong with adding into this thread... that is, adding more devices that are having A2DP profiles...

Can Videonut, Fire Dragan, or ANYBODY explain the connection trick?

I had the Lubix on the road for most of the day, and couldn't figure out how to consistently connect for music (the phone and MSVC always work).

And while we're at it, anybody have tips on AVRCP? I'm using a MDA/Wizard, and they don;t seem to work for Mortplayer.

EDIT: Sorry for re-hijacking.

Posted by: kola

maybe mortplayer doesn't support avrcp. try wmp to see if it works, then you know for sure cuz wmp does support avrcp.

As has been pointed out in the full roundup of AVRCP-capable players (see http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/in...1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 ), MortPlayer isn't compatible with the WM5 MS BT stack.

Use an alternate player.

The newest Mortplayer does support AVRCP perfectly in Mortplayer with the WM5 MS Bt Stack and the UtStarcom PPC6700. It's even better using Mortplayer than WMP because the pause/play doesn't work right in WMP.

I still haven't figured out the perfect sequance to get music playing over the Lubix. I usually start handheld then turn on Mortplayer, turn on Lubix press play on Mortplayer.
If sound comes from handheld speaker then commanager/btsettings set as wireless from dropdown menu back to Mortplayer pless play on screen. Doesn't always work though. Sometimes just at this point exiting Mortplayer and restarting it works using the screen buttons in mortplayer. Also note if the headphone icon is showing briefly then you're close.
Sorry I couldn't be more help. The Lubix is kinda quirky.

What ROM version do you have on your device? Is it a new, or the factory one (if the latter, it can't be AKU2)?

(BTW, I've published an article on different AKU versions. It's also linked from my latest "Three stereo A2DP headphones reviewed" roundup.)

Posted by: davidw89

According to System Info on the PDA
Version
CMOS:55.44
ExtRom: EX0033
Hardware:C1
Radio:R060822N_MN2ARC_RS0013
ROM:20060721B1WWE

When i got my phone (1 months ago) i immediately updated it with the latest ROM on the o2 website.

Cheers
