Problem with my Nokia 6225

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Alright so I sticked with my 6225 for this moment. I now have the Best Buy EPP plan and can get Mobile Browsing for free. But my phone is wacked...

I tried a lot of softwares which needs data connection, but every fails sometime. Opera Mini, Google Maps, Flurry and eMSN.

What I mean by fail is that at a random point, the phone reboots. Everything shuts down and the phone reboots.

Any ideas ? Google Maps, Opera, Flurry and eMSN are supported by my phone. Opera works fine but like any other, sometimes it crashed and reboots the phone.

It's very annoying. Do you guys know anything about this issue ? Is it a Bell network issue ?

Thanks

Neo

p.s: The 6225 is not ev-do !

Your phone sounds fine . You might want to upgrade to the new Nokia 6175 shortly.

so crashing and rebooting is "fine" ?

yeah I'm planning to upgrade soon to the 6275i but that is if Bell wants to give me rebates

your phone is crashing because you are loading incompatible programs in it...just because your phone model is listed as a compatible phone, it doesn't mean there won't be issues with the software that is in it.

bleh I need a new phone then

And Bell won't give me any rebates on a new phone ! I hate this **** seriously. I've been with Bell since May 2003 (2 years contract), switched my phone on May 2005 and got a 2 years contracts. And I now substract for a 3 years EPP contract and I cannot change my phone I bought in May 2005 for a new one with rebates.

I want the 6275i but 250$ for the thing, kinda expensive for me...

interesting...another customer wanting free phones and on a low ARPU EPP plan to boot...quelle surprise.

this is exactly why the EPP plans have been "changed".

I was surprised when I quit my job at Bell to work at Telus, of how Telus seemed to avoid mentionning EPP plans to anyone, unless they really felt they'd lose the sale if they didn't.
At Bell I was taught to try and find and EPP or INDV account for which the customer was eligible, and I actually got paid MORE if I did activate on an NAG. Telus actually pays less for EPP activations, and recommends they be used as a last resort.
Funny how Bell seems to regret attracting all those low ARPU customers now...

that's what the new boss' are talking about.

quality over quantity.

before, it was about who did the most activations...now its about ARPU, not total customers.

well even if I'm an EPP customer or not, I'm still a customer it doesn't matter. I don't want free phone, I just want a rebate because I've been a long time with Bell and still planning for minimum 3 years. Just give me 50-75$ rebate on the Nokia and I'll be happy !

just pay for the phone outright...you are saving around $50/month with your plan as it is...on an EPP plan, if you are buying a new phone every two years, the company hasn't made a dime off you...hence the changes.

Haven't you been aound long enough to realize that Levels of Management & Executives have to justify their existence by window dressing the Goods . They try to pass off Old Idea or someone elses as their own. I've seen too many people pretend to be Leaders that are nothing other than Copy Cats & charlatans. Sounds again like Bell is Copying Telus.

EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN

When trumpets were mellow
And ev'ry gal only had one fellow
No need to remember when
'Cause ev'ry thing old is new again

(Dancin' at) Your Long Island Jazz Age parties
Waiter, bring us more Bacardis
We'll order now what they ordered then
'Cause ev'ry thing old is new again

Get out your white suit, your tap shoes and tails
Let's go backwards when all else(forward) fails
And movie stars you thought were long dead
Now are framed beside your bed

Don't throw the past away
You might need it some rainy day
Dreams can come true again
When ev'ry thing old is new again

Get out your white suit, your tap shoes and tails
Put it in backward when forward fails
But leave Greta Garbo alone
Be a movie star on your own

And don't throw the past away
You might need it some rainy day
Dreams can come true again
When ev'ry thing old is new again

I might fall in love with you again

no actually I'm saving around 20$ no more for the same plan I had. I had the Xtreme 35$ +5$ Call Display from January 2006 which was a very good one.

At this moment I got a EPP 20$ + Fuel 10

you are saving more than $20 per month if you have the EPP plan...work out the cost of minutes, features and clock (depending on your EPP plan)...i have the EP1 from Feb 2006 and i save around $60/month vs a regular plan with it.
