Bought a E71 - anyone wanna share any experiences?

I recently became intrigued by the BenQ-Siemens brand, so I decided to purchase one to see if the phones were any good. I have limited experiences with Siemens, and while the handsets seemed sturdy, they were mostly low-end and so they paled in comparison to what was available from Nokia, Motorola, Samsung etc. The UI software was also awfully structured and very buggy. I stayed away from Siemens for the most part, becoming a loyal Motorola customer.

So out of curiosity, and my desire to give the (now ailing) brand another chance, I bought an BQ-S E71 from GermanMobilePhone.com. It should be arriving in about a week or so. Does anybody who owns this phone want to give me a heads up on what to expect from it? I promise to post up a review once I receive it.

Hey, just got my E71 this week for $220. I love it, the screen is awesome and the GPRS/Edge connectivity is great.

My only problems so far has been buying accessories. Because it's so new, and not even sold in the US (other than Ebay), I had a hard time buying a case for it to protect that lovely casing (Dark Silver); ended up trying a bunch in a mall kiosk before I found one I liked. I had to go to the UK ebay sellers to get a car charger for it, and have not found a spare battery anywhere.

The only thing I don't like about the phone itself is no voice dialing. But it IS updateable firmware-wise, maybe they'll do something about that. I'm sure slowly but surely there will be more options for it. Such is life for an early adopter.

Hey are you in the US? Where in the world did you find it for $220? Brand new? And was that the total price? I paid $280 for mine, but there was $60 of shipping. I got it from GermanMobilePhone.com through the webshop at Club-Siemens.net. I also have it with T-Mobile and I love it. I'm working on a video review of it but school and work are killing me. Maybe over the weekend.

Yep, in the US. I needed it ASAP since I had NO phone, paid $36 shipping for next-day air, total of $256. Brand spanking new. Here's the seller ....... and here's the auction

I see... you got it from Simservice. They're in Brooklyn, which explains why your shipping was so much cheaper (and faster). I didn't know about Simservice until after I bought my phone .. the place I got it from is in Bassum, Germany. Either way, I thought Simservice only had the black one. Now I know.
