Pearl doesn't always show correct caller id numbers

In the evenings and on weekends, I forward my work cellphone calls to my personal phone. I recently purchased as a personal phone, a BB Pearl from TMobile and I've found that the Pearl doesn't always show the correct caller number when receiving forwarded calls. Sometimes it shows "Private Number" or "Unknown Number" even though the numbers aren't blocked. My previous phone, a Motorola v300 that I used for two years, consistenly showed the caller's number. My work phone is a Nextel. As suggested by Tmobile tech support, I've tried reinstalling the Handheld Software (4.2.0.42) obtained from TMobile but it didn't solve the issue. After the install, I power-cycled the handset, called the Nextel number, and saw "Private Number" as the caller. I then transferred my SIM to the v300, called the Nextel number, and saw the correct number.

Has anyone else experienced this? What else can I try?
