I'm honestly torn between the two. The ROKR has me because of the new intereface and the price but the w850i is extremely sexy.

Below are reviews that i wrote a while back on one of my blogs have a read and see if it helps :-

The Motorola ROKR E2 mobile phone is a pretty bulky candy bar phone from Motorola which was announced in January this year. The mobile phone weighs approximately 107 grams and measures around 106 x 49.5 x 18 mm.

The Motorola ROKR E2 mobile phone is a 256k color TFT screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The phone has a SD card slot which can take memory cards up to a size of 2GB. It also has 10mb of internal memory. The Motorola ROKR E2 mobile phone comes with data connectivity options like GPRS and EDGE for higher speed data transfers. The Motorola ROKR E2 mobile phone also has Bluetooth and a Usb v2.0 port for connecting your phone to the computer. The Motorola ROKR E2 mobile phone runs on a Linux Based operating system. The other good features which come with the phone are a good 1.3 megapixel camera with flash capabilities, a HTML browser in form of Opera 8. The Motorola ROKR E2 mobile phone also has a Mpeg-4/Mp3 player for playback.

The Motorola ROKR E2 mobile phone comes in black and silver. The battery life of the Motorola ROKR E2 mobile phone is about 4 and half hours of talktime and over 200 hours of standby.

The Sony Ericsson W850i mobile phone is a “Walkman” branded 3G-slider mobile phone. It is Sony Ericsson’s initial sliding handset, as well as (along with the new-fangled Sony Ericsson W710 mobile phone clamshell), it brings the integer of “Walkman” mobile phones in Sony Ericsson’s assortment into twofold digits.

In fundamental mechanical terms, the Sony Ericsson W850i mobile phone is a pretty unadventurous up-to-date 3G mobile phone. There’s a 2″ (51mm) 240×320 pixel display, a 2-mega-pixel camera in addition to a secondary video calling camera, resilient memory as well as stereo Blue tooth, plus the Walkman multimedia suite and an FM radio. It weighs 116 grams and measures 98×47x21mm.The internal memory is presently 64Mb, however the Sony Ericsson W850i mobile phone comes with a 1Gb Memory Stick Pro Duo card that is supple to 4Gb. We surmise that’s good quality for about 16 albums value of textile in the touchstone composition, up to 64 albums by way of a 4Gb card, which is ample.

The software wrap up on the Sony Ericsson W850i mobile phone is pretty widespread. There’s an advance adaptation of the Walkman player, called the “Advanced Walkman 2.0 Music Player”, Track ID, in addition an email client (in the company of push email support), web browser with Flash support, RSS news reader furthermore a entire host of other multimedia and delicate information administration applications. There’s also an not obligatory media stand to bung the Sony Ericsson W850i mobile phone into, turning it into a minuscule hifi system.

The Sony Ericsson W850i mobile phone is a tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 mobile phone by means of UMTS 2100 for 3G connectivity, and Sony Ericsson plan to sell it into the Europe, Middle East and Africa markets at some point in Q3 2006. There are two colours accessible, “Precious Black” and “Golden White”. Astonishingly, there seems to be no non-Walkman version of this handset obtainable, which is a infamy.

It’s reasonably a elegant looking mobile phone, and it shows just how assertively Sony Ericsson are pursuing the music mobile phone market. As we said earlier, with the current consignment of releases, Sony Ericsson now has 10 “Walkman” categorized mobile phones. In branding terms, that’s a stronger arrangement than Sony Ericsson’s rivals who don’t have admission to the same sort of branding. Motorola tried and failed to take advantage of on I-Tunes with the Motorola ROKR E1 mobile phone, but given that then their marketing bewilderment has been a calamity. In our view, Sony Ericsson is the understandable director in this market alcove.
