I am just going to get a verizon razr next week and i want to figure out a couple of things before i get it so when i get it i will be good to go. i have a lot of ringtones and wallpapers in my computer and i know that verizon has some kind of lock on this. So my question is, how can i make it happen because im kind of lost. i kno i need the MPT 4.04 b or higher and i already got that, i also have the usb cable that is needed for it, and some software called p2k and something called driver tool 421a, my question is is this all i need to upload ringtones and wallpapers into my phone, because i heard something avout seem edits and i went to mark ventures website but i still am not sure how that works, if i do what specific software do i need to have other than this to make it happen.

I would appreciate it if somebody could help because i been trying to get everythign ready so when i get my razt next week i wont have any setbacks. i apprecite it so much, somebody please help!!!!!

For a "Stock" Verizon V3M... All you can do is work with the contacts and calendar over a USB Cable OR Bluetooth. MultiMedia Studio feature does not work.

As you can see, Verizon disables compatibility with MPT's MultiMedia Studio feature (part that does ring tones/pictures/videos) on the phones themselves..

Because of this, they also remove the "M" from the phone ID string... so when MPT auto-detects your phone, it will only give you the options of a "STOCK" phone, i.e. NO MultiMedia Studio icon...

There are two things needed to fix this... (you must do both!!)
First... Re-enable the feature on the phone.. Seem Edit is the only way!! (Offset 6A, Bit0... on the E815, V3C, V3M it would be Seem 2742, on the V710 it would be Seem 041A)
Next... Get MPT to see your phone as the "M" model of your phone so that you get MPT's MultiMedia Studio icon/features... (There are 3 different ways to accomplish this task, you must "pick 1"... each are described on the install/setup guides below..)

So, while Seem Edits can re-enable the features on the V710/E815/V3C(.03/.04)/V3M, BRVP does NOT SUPPORT this, and will not support "hacked" or Seem Edited phones. So, if you do a seem edit, you void your phone's warranty, Verizon's support, and BVRP will NOT help you if you have problems with MPT.

The required Seem Edits....See the Popular V710/E815/V3C Seem Edits Page... You need to do ONE Offset 6A/Bit0, and optionally the Phone ID String edit.
So it looks like you need to do a SEEM EDIT... two values needed are Offset 6A and Bit 0.

Visit the Popular V710/E815/V3C Seem Edits Page... and look for that... you'll find them under a headding that says...
Quote:
To use these in the Seem Edit Process... Use Record 1, Bytes (h) 0000
For the V710 Seem is 041A For the E815/V3C/V3M Seem is 2742

Or more plainly (also on the MPT page)...
Quote:
Note: Verizon V710/E815/V3C(.03/.04)/V3M users Even if displayed, the Multimedia Studio feature will not work unless you do the Seem Edit Bluetooth Or USB file transfer in MPT. Offset 006A, Bit 0. to seem 041A on the V710, 2742 on the E815/V3C(.03)/V3M as outlined on the Popular Seem Edit Page

So, that means you know you need to edit Seem 2742, Bytes (h) 0000, Offset 6A, and Bit 0...

So when you use the link along the left for the SEEM EDIT page... and it says...
Quote:
NOTE: This process can be used for ANY Seem edit where you have the Seem Number, Bytes in Hex (aka length), record number and bits you need to change.
You now have the values...

See the REQUIRED section on the seem edit page as to what software you need (links to FREEWARE is given, links to copyright software are NOT)... then follow the walk through using those values (Seem 2742, Bytes (h) 0000, Offset 6A, and Bit 0...) rather than what is in the pictures...

At which part are you getting stuck?

PS: the V3M is not supported in MPT until version 4.21a... so if you have 4.04b, V3M/V3MM will not be a listed as a phone choice.
