Temp replacement for 8125 until 8525 drops?

First off, I have been nothing but happy with my 8125. I have had it since week one of them hitting the premier site. But, after many drops on the pavement and learning the hard way not to use a Razr charger, it is about to breath it's last. So, I am left in the unenviable position of having to replace it prior to the release of the 8525. I would apreciate advice on what I should do or get in the meantime. Here are my concerns and how I use the 8125.

1. Really need a keyboard, I can not go back to T9 text input after being so spoiled. I text constantly and also send email.
2. I use the internet a great deal, so a good net phone is a must.
3.Sometime in the near future, we in South Florida are going HSPDA, supposedly, so a phone so equipped would be a plus.
4. I have looked at and considered the 3125 but, I am not sure I would be happy with a smartphone as opposed to a full fledged WM 5.0 phone.

Finally, I am eligible for two upgrades via the premier site, so I could get one phone now, and the 8525 when it is finally released, but, from a cost conscious point of view, I am wondering if I may not be better off getting an unlocked Tytn now instead.

Any thoughts, suggestions would be immensely appreciated. Thank you.

How are you on temporary (Or permanantly) jumping ship to another OS? Try the E62. It's cheap on the Premier site, about $185. The best deal by far if you ask me. At 1st I was hesitant to move to a Symbian OS phone because of all the money I've invested in software for my Windows devices; but I'm glad I made the purchase. I love my E62, web browsing is amazingly awesome, the static keyboard is very nice, the QVGA screen is gorgeous (16M colors), I have absolutely no regrets on the E62. Between my three phones, I constantly find myself coming back to the E62 for it's keyboard and web browsing capabilities+ease of use.

Actually, might not be a bad idea. Does the E62 play well with Xpressmail? I have Lotus Notes and calendar running on my work computer which I use constantly on the road. Works phenomenally well on the 8125. This is a must for me.

I do not have alot invested software wise in the 8125 as I have pretty much kept it stock.

Someone point me to where I might find the best price and most reputable source for an unlocked Tytn? I'm thinking more and more, that my best bet may be to pony up the cash for the one phone I know I like.

Wirelessly posted (MOT-V557/08.28.40R MIB/2.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

Another 8125 from Amazon $149 (79 AR) with one of your upgrades. I just got 1.

I got "refurb" 8125 off Premiere for $200 in the "mean time" until I can get the 8525.
It's a refurb, but you could have fooled me. As far as I could tell it seemed brand spankin' new. I had even hoped to use the $100 rebate, but alas you can't use rebates on refurbs. A new one by the way is $250 after rebate.
But to get a refurb 8125 + an 8525 for the "upgrade price" would pretty much cost almost what an unlocked TyTn would. Also since I got an "upgrade" price on the 8125, there's a chance they won't give me the upgrade on the 8525. But so far my experience with Premiere is that you can get an upgrade 4 times per year.

I'm glad I got the 8125. I love it. But it's also showed me that I don't prefer this slider keyboard style. I'll be going back to the Treo when the 750 comes out.

I also thought a good thing to do would be get the 3125, and then get the 8525 later. Then keep both. Have the 3125 for those times when you want a smaller flip phone, and the 8525 for the rest of the time when you want the whole enchilada. I might still get the 3125. It's just so darn cute! But I'm going to hold off until I get a Treo 750 first.

My plan exactly- First stab at a PDA and I can't wait to lay my hands on it next week. I figured I could drop $149 (79 AR) on this baby for right now and hope for another upgrade via Premiere when the 8525 is released.

By the way- I had mixed feelings about upgrading via Amazon but was willing to take my chances at $149 out the door.

FYI All. Try to hold off until at least next week. I know it's long shot but the 8525 COULD be coming out Oct 25thish. It's at least worth it to wait a few days to find out before wasting money and upgrades.

I think I'm gonna try and wait at least a week and keep my fingers crossed. It just seems like I won't be happy with anything else/
