| So is this a quad-band or tri-band? Premier states both, but Phonescope says triband. |

The speakerphone on my wife's D407 has better clarity...the Moto is just a little louder. I may send it back and wait on the LG PTT phone or the Pearl (if it has PTT).

I called a friend and he said (without me even asking) that the speakerphone was much better. I could hear him much better and he said he could hear me much better. He made that comment twice during the conversation. The earpiece volume is a little louder than previous Motorolas I've had, but the difference is not nearly as significant as the increased external speaker volume. Plus, when I had the external speaker all the way up at 7 there was no distortion at all. Very impressive. Also new, you can hold down the # key and switch to vibrate mode quickly then toggle back to whichever mode you had it on before. The camera seems about the same as others, I don't use it that much. I don't have push to talk so I can't comment on that. I keep it in my pocket and it is a bit thicker than the V557, but its not a deal breaker unless you're someone who wears tight fitting pants. It has a solid vibrate. Not weak at all, but not the strongest I've felt. The outer "smart key" on other V series models is replaced by the PTT button on this one. Of course, same old Moto UI, I haven't noticed any big changes there. I like the now-standard USB port charger. It does have a little cap that stays flipped-up when you are charging it. I guess that is important if you have the phone is really dusty environments regularly. I'm going to keep playing with it and post anything new I find.

Can you play MP3s through the external speaker with the flip closed? |
