I screwed my GF's RAZR. HELP!

Ok, like many others here... Im fairly new to modding and stuck my hands and usb cable where they don't belong.
I had a V3 from cingular about a year ago and modded the hell out of it, no probs what-so-ever. So... my GF and I jumped onto the verizon network and she got a V3M... I noticed how incredibly crippled it was and thought... hey, I'll just mod it and make it like it should be. Anyway, long story short, everything went fine... I used MMF instead of RSD, just cause it's what I prefer and I flashed to the 4.{whatever} of Alltels firmware.... then went through and fixed all the get it now and mms server crap.
Her phone ran dandy for a few days, with the exception that the "MONTH" in her calender was all scrambly and unreadable. Well... she came to my house tonight.... and I opened her phone to just check out what I had done to it.... and the screen went black... but not all black....the status bar at the top (battery icon, signal strength, ect) remained visable. I thought... great... so after powering on and off about 10 times and removing the battery about 5.... I decided I'd just have to go back to the verizon firmware (V3C). So... I hooked it up to my pc... and instead of doing the little "USB connected" sound..... the phone said "Unable to charge" which is different then when you dont have the right p2k and USB drivers installed..... cause that says "Unauthorized Charger"... so I thought that was weird.
Anyway.... so... basically I couldn't even get the PC to see the phone... so what the hell was I suppose to do to restore the firmware???? So.... I thought... maybe if I plug the charger in it might kick the phone in it's brain and make something change ( I thought about this because of the "Unable to charge" message I got ) So I plugged it in, let it charge for a minute..... powered off and on... no change... took out the battery about 5 more times, powering up between removals... well... I'm not sure what did it... the charger or what... maybe a combination of everything, but my PC FINALLY picked up the phone and I jumped right into MMF and reflashed Verizon's flash back...... ok.... so... now.... phone works great... like new... EXCEPT for some small issues...

1. When manually tapping a number in to call ( not out of the contact list ) the screen goes all black again and instead of seeing the numbers your tapping, a blank, white box appears inplace of each digit.

2. Screen is black during calls...... no matter how you dial them.

3. When you browse the menu to the "Tools and Settings" tab... you can see the list of sub-menus.... but when you try to get into one... IE "Phone Settings", "Display", "Initial Setup".... yep, get a black screen.

4. Last and but not least, the list of tones or ringtones or whatever.... everything appears fine.... but it won't play anything but like two of them... I can't remember which ones it plays.... but it's not just not playing the ones I transfered onto the phone via MPT, it's not playing 90% of the ones included from verizon.

So..... I thought.... about it for a bit... and was like "duh"..... I forgot to do a master-reset and master-clear afterward....
However, I have no way to get into it due to the fact that the screen is black in the menu I need to be in.

Aside from the help I need on these issues, I have some specific questions to ask...

1. When in MMF and I do a reFlash... and I have the "Master Clear" and "Master Reset" boxes checked.... is it still necessary to go through the phone's menu and do it myself?

2. As far as if I need to do a MR/MC on the phone..... heres the thing... I know the phone knows im in the menu.... I dont think that it's not letting me in... I just can't see it.... cause, when I dial a number manually... and get the little white boxes... and I hit send.... it still dials and calls who I need it to... also... when Im in the "Initial Setup" menu... and I use the D-Pad to move down... although I can't see... I can HEAR that i'm scrolling down... So...
If I need to do a MR/MC, would someone out here, with a V3C or V3M, be willing to type me up a step through to get me to the master reset and master clear options? Meaning like "Press down 5 times, hit ok twice, then press left and ok again" kinda thing....

And my last question is this....

3. The biggest initial drive to mod her phone in the first place was the fact the my girl, loves her some games..... and verizon likes to give it to you in the rear at 6.99 per game.... so I thought, hey... I'll just enable KJava and she'll have more games then she can handle..... I spent a whole night... into the wee hours of the morning.... trying to get the **** KJava enabled..... on the V3... it was a breeze..... what the hell is up with the C and M??? is it not possible to do the KJava thing????

There's lots of mod-savy individuals on here.... I'm just hoping that someone can give me some solid answers..... and I'm not trying to be rude or a jerk in saying this, but I need REAL help here.... not "Do you have the right P2K drivers installed?" or "What version of PST are you using..."
But don't get me worng.... any help would be appreciated I'm just freakin a bit cause.... my girl is a little peeved at me..... cause.... I'm a guy... and I can't... just leave stuff alone... and she asked me if it would f*** it up before I did it... and I told her hell no.... and I messed it up... and I really can't afford to buy her a new one..... so... yeah....

Thanks in advance guys.

sounds like you corrupted the skins in the v3c. go over to the motorola section in the verizon forum and search out the answer over there.

I thought that you couldn't flash back to Verizon once you flashed to Altell?

If you read it again you'll see that they are talking about flashing the V3m with V3c firmware. Last I heard you could not flash back to the original V3m firmware because that firmware is not available in downloadable form (yet).

Is there any way to back the original V3m firmware up so you can go back to it if you want at a later time?

Posted by: johnwasser

I have not heard of any way to copy the firmware out of a phone. The various firmware files used to flash Motorola V3 phones have been distributed to service providers as updates or patches. Until there is a need to update or patch the firmware on a V3m the firmware will most likely not be available.

You tried to put Moto UI skins on a Verizon UI phone...Bad JuJu!!!
You need to remove the offending skin and run MotoKit to do the Master Reset.

1) Remove the skin(s) via BitPim.
2) Make sure the original Verizon skins are loaded on the phone.
3) Run MotoKit. You can get MotoKit from the MotoModders.net download section.
Mobile -> Control -> Master Reset
4) Cross fingers!!!

If you really want java games on a RAZR V3M - Sprint just came out with one with Java.

A Motorola ASC can.

I'll also note that NEWC_1.05a has been leaked since around 12/9/2006.

There is no way to backup Firmware from CDMA phones into anything that can be used successfully re-flashed...

Mark - that is what I thought. One of my friends with VZW asked me, and I wanted to make sure.

Cool... Btw, you did see the post by phreakincool, that the Verizon V3M MONSTER firmware was leaked, right? so it can be used to take a Verizon V3M phone back to an "out of the box" state.

No need to worry about backing it up on your own..

There have been a lot of different CDMA Moto Monster files LEAKED lately (see the Verizon/Moto section)... looks like it could be the start of something good
