Umm I'd say about or month more. Setool seems to be on the right track check out their forums at setool.net Anyway basically you can unlcok Db2020 chips (found in 904, 704 etc) by using a special dongle and logs. Thats what they've said so I'm not sure exactly when they plan to put out more details on that but thats what they are saying.

Unlocking SE chipset phones is a combination of DB2020 + CID. They can unlock db2020 with the lower CID, not the higher CID. They can unlock phones only with access to a smart card given to legitimate SE service centers (they sell "logs" to give you access to their smart card). They can unlock a lower CID phone by taking out the erom chip and flash it as an empty board.

Unlocking 904 is still very far away.

I seriously don't know much I'm simply saying what I read. Any phones usually double in price when they are unlocked. SO lets say the 904 is about 400 to 500 right now when it gets unlocked it will be 800 to 1000 something like that.

Well ur right saying its going to be a month is being overly optamistic. Whatever happens happens. I think we were kind of gambling when we bought these phones locked. They do make nice toys though. I've been playing with my 705sh all day. Good stuff. Anyway I ordered a 904t to help tide me over until that magical day.

If it takes more than a couple more months then its really kinda too late, the 904 is already getting towards the end of its shelf life in reality. I think the 5MP camera phones currently available (unlocked and ready to use) plus the ones announced (N95 etc) kinda make the 904sh look more than a little dated.

I suppose good news may come if the 904 unlock helps with all the new sharps about to be released.

Can't see many paying $1000 for a 904 even unlocked given the age and spec of the product.

I don't mean to sound down on Sharps as they are my favourite mobile brand but to be any kind of import success the unlock needed to come for the 904 6 months ago.

The opposite is true --- auction price for 904SH has been dropping like a stone. That tells you some important information.

It's not "overly optimistic" --- it's about people who have no idea of what they are talking about giving unconfirmed information. Where is Bestdesignman? He went to 5 different forums from hofo to gsmhosting to mobileburn a month ago --- and start talking about how there is a place in Philippines that can unlock 904SH.

hmm.... even if there was an unlock in the Philippines (beta???), I doubt it that its even safe to do so. Note that the market there is predominantly SE and Nokia. Those retailers/flashers are most likely to carry products that competed for the largest market. Take 903 when it was unlocked, most of the units there were full of bugs (i.e. no bluetooth, etc.). haayyyyy....

anyway, Im hoping that it will come out sooner than later.

At the moment a lot of people waitng for unlocking this phone but it seems that nothing done on this. All information about unlocking is unclear or unconfirmed. Do not waste your time & money. Try to sell it back to japan and buy K800i....

If anyone does unlock it it will be Setool and I'm just telling everyone what Lazer said I'm not making anything up. THe parts about the prices going up is information I got from Timsta so. Idiots who come on here saying that their cousins friends uncle is the bestest elitest unlockzorz in the world and unlocked 10 904 with one hand are the real problem. Not people who give information that is pretty legit.

PLEASE STOP SPREADING RUMOURS AND GETTING FALSE HOPES UP... with comments like "unlock will be out in 1 months time etc" -

As you said --- look at the setool.net forums --- 2 threads from 2 weeks ago (and the first thread was answered by a moderator of their support forum).

It will never be unlocked ever SOmebody throw this thread in the trash can already and people really need to do their own GD research and stop asking so many GD stupid questions.
