Razr goes dead

Screen is black, keys don't work. Only way to get it running is take out the battery, put back in and restart. Then it tells me the day/time are wrong "do you want to reset?" I skip that, and then it runs like regular. Sometimes it has a weird screen -- just pixels, no picture. Any ideas on this Verizon phone that's never been dropped, never wet, hardly used for less than 6 months?
