I wanna see what people have been doing in terms of modding their w810i's with k750i backs. What colour combos did you put on? What do you think would look sexed?

In my opinion, K750 backplates are very ugly, ruin the whole appearance of the phone.

If I still had my W810, I would probably get a W800 middle plate, and experiment with black or white housing.

i'm probably gonna get silver side buttons and an orange mspd cover from cnn.cn. Debating on if i should get a white keypad though.

That looks really bad with K750 backplate and black buttons. I would get white housing and orange middle plate.

Nice effort LawmaN. However, I think your W810i looks better with the W800i backplate and black sides. The front of the W810i looks more sporty as opposed to the classy look of the backplate of the K750i. But that's just my opinion. The version with the orange sides kind of reminds me of a car with different pieces of a body kit, all of them different colors.

I like the silver midplate but the white keypad throws me off.

Anybody do silver K750 side buttons yet (pause/play, volume, and power)? That's going to be my next project.

Same here. It looks like someone found a broken W810 and used scrap housing to fix it

eoszlak is your light blue?

and it looks like you removed the silver part on the k750i battery cover. did you?

it looks nice except you shoulda picked one colour for all the buttons and keypad. thats what ill do probably.

its funny u shud say that.. i was thinkn i oughta thro the black ones in der..
but i unno i guess i jus wanted sumthin different. im contemplating doing silver aftermarket w810 front, black w810 buttons, black w810 middle with w810 buttons, nd silver k750 back with black slide... but i unno if i wanna put money into it.. i only bought the phone to do this whole housing mod... so yah.. i think if i stick with the current basic layout..k750 buttons are a must. but i didnt have any sitting around.. so yah- if i find some ill thro them in 4sure.

actually i bought the w810 and it was in mint condition, it had 2 extremly small hairlines... which to the naked eye are not there.as far as housings go- thats pretty much it man. i honestly jus took w/e i had sitting around from other ppls phones that ive done. i only bought this phone to do this mod to and sell. so right now im jus promo'ing it at school to get ppls attention. when i have some one whos actually serious.. ill do it to theyr specs... or if i decide to keep it- but i dun kno y id do that..

yes the light is blue. however when i turn on the light its just as white nd bright as ever i made sure it didnt affect photo quality when i did it. so yah, however when i redo the phone with other parts...im thinking green.. like the sony logo, or mayb orange like the keypad.. i unno. as far as the silver part on the battery cover goes, the battery cover is not an original part its aftermarket and never had one on it, which is fine by me- i dont need that much silver anyway... i cant find my original one with the silver anyways.. so like w/e

lol its actually really chinsey what i did........ i used translucent celaphane in.. like the same stuff u use to wrap gift basket nd flowers er w/e... i jus cut like 3-4really really small strips.. and taped them together and over top of the leds or ontop of the clear flash lens.. i cant remember anyways heres what the stuff looks like..

Hey, I am looking at Cnn.cn to do some mods our 810's. I have a couple of questions. Where do you get the silver middle part? Is that this? Also, what is the closest I can get to a completely silver 810? Am I stuck with only a black or white front? (I am not going to get the crap on ebay). Thanks for all your help!!

yes that looks about right.. i had mine here already sitting around.. so i unno 4 sure.. closest to silver is gunna be silver k750 back, middle, buttons and w/e black/white w810 parts u wan use. ive been lookin on ebay, and honestly for how cheap some of these silver housings are, if i can find a color matching keypad im gunna go for it. like if the quality is bad, which is definetly a possibility- u lose like 10 bux... ah welll.. but like it cud come out great, 4 out of the 5 times ive gotten parts off ebay when i want tricky stuff that cnn doesnt have, theyve been good and looked great, in one case actually better than cnn parts.

Right now my 810 has the same colour combo as eoszlak but gonna put the black k750i back on it. I might change the faceplate back to black with white buttons when I do.
