How I make ringtones for my w810i

So i looked and looked for away to make ringtones for my new w810i. So I searched the net and found this linkThis is sweet!!. So i cut and made a ringtone, used my USB cable to transfer it. BAM!!! I had a ringtone that I wanted and I didnt have to pay bloody Cingular for it.

To things I did notice is that saving the file as a MP3 and trying to use that still resulted in the phone not being able to use it. The option to use as a ringtone was still not selectable. It did work saving it as a M4A file did result in being able to use it as a ringtone. Another file type tried was AMR. The sound quality was HORRIBLE.

My tone was about 20 seconds long and was encoded at the highest bitrate I could use. So thats how I made my new ringtone. Hope this some people that have been struggling with this.

On a side note, I have just got the SE w810i and I see alot about debranding and unlocking phones. As this is my frist time having a phone that has alot of features(always had Nokias, recently 6102), I was wondering what the difference is and if there are any advantages/disadvantages. Basiclly what will it do for me.
