anyone who will be carrying the new softbank phones???

when the 904sh was released by voda kk it quickly appeared to some sellers such as ebay and umobile (and other stores that i don't know). but when the new softbank phones are announced it seems that no one has tried selling them. is it that no one attempts to invest on phones that are far from being unlocked (or takes too long to get unlocked)? or still have some jitters in getting to know the workaround with the new softbank managemet?

is it still possible that we can get those new phones?

well the only 2 sorces(ebay, Umobile) that i know, you already mention it....

there are a few, but Softbank has new polices on the contract-ending business. That affects it a little, but it's probably mainly the fact that the new phones can't be unlocked. There isn't a SINGLE Softbank phone that can be unlocked at the moment.

I saw a bunch on the yahoo.co.jp auction but again becasue it is still locked..... I mean even for the 904sh.... so there is no point for selling those phone oversea...

I still get lots of the softbank phones. It's true that less people are buying the newly branded ones, but that's just because most people are waiting for an unlock first. The 904 will be unlocked as soon as the K800 is (post-factory of course). The current situation is that none of the new lineup have been unlocked. Perhaps the panasonic or samsung models will be next.

K800 also has DB2020 right?

Posted by: Kevbodian

yeah. k800 has not been unlocked outside a SE factory. as soon as it is, there will be a way to unlock DB2020 models. that means 904.

so instead of waiting for 904 unlock, wait for the k800 (more people have it/want it unlocked).

well then again no one has any of those softbank phones yet (well aside from the japanese of course) so apparently no one can try unlocking it so how do we know if it can be cracked or not really. sharps has been using hard-to-unlock hardwares on their phones so it still cant be cracked up to now. what more those new phones that has just been released. i wonder if those other brands like the panasonic or the samsung can be unlocked. but since no one has tried carrying/selling them out of softbank network then we can't confirm.

i know voda also has those contract cancellation policies and all, but still some still manages to get a workaround on that. know what i mean? i don't think that after the selling of voda kk to softbank they also changed all of the employees. that's why i'm wondering why no one seems to carry them as of now. i think its not about the risk of investing on phones that we're not certain of unlock, but maybe getting to know softbank itself first and knowing the risk of getting them outside their network. well who knows? it could be both

Only very few people are capable of creating unlocking solutions. Are you telling me that no one is sending a couple of these new phones to laser to play with?

If the other phones like the panasonics --- can be hacked and unlocked --- it would automatically create demand for it because there is a delta in subsidized price and trading price.

Organized unlocking and phone trading business --- whether the actual unlocking technology is legal or not (which is often debated) --- are almost always illegal in its other areas of business. It's a cash business, they don't pay taxes and import/export duties. They are not here for the long run --- they will make as much money as possible --- while they can. They would go all out to get these phones if there is enough price difference between subsidized price and trading price.

well i just hope that there would still be some firms who can get these phones and offer to the little world market out of japan. i don't know who is laser or who are other popular phone techs out there who might already have some of these new phones. im just one of the few thirsty-for-new-phone person out there and wanting to hear some news about the new phones. thats why im wondering why is it there are a very few news or updates about the new phones. even the long awaited 904sh unlock still doesn't have an update yet. im sure a lot of sharp hofoers are also thirsty about any updates. so i hope there will be some good news to come about the 904sh and other new softbank phones

Don't bother wondering about every plausible reason for this just to satisfy your long waiting times.

The most simple answers are often the correct ones --- changes in contract ending penalities and putting simlock security inside silicon chipsets.

Contrary to samab's usual posts about how they should wipe out SIM cards in the 4G technology (this topic is for a discussion at another time though not now ), Samab, you have hit the nail on the head more or less.

The whole reason is to protect their own company. Who wouldn't want to do that? No one would runa loss-making company

where there's a will there is a way. at the moment there is just not enough will.
