So i entered all the info in the native email client under messages. It is set for ssl and the correct ports are used. Now when i try to retreive new mail using mediaNet or email settings access point i get the same issue. First it warns me about an untrusted cert but i continue through that. Then it gives me security warning and that the server may not accept secure login.do i need a cert dwnload

I used to have an e61 and the way i got gmail to work was to go to http://live.mail2web.com/ and get a mail2weblive account. Then i forwarded gmail to my mail2web account and it was pushed to my phone...coming from a blackberry, I also set it up for instant email. Once I did that, email came as quickly as it did on my BB 8700c. Since I dont have the phone in front of me, I cant walk you through email setup on phone but thats what I did and never had to worry about cert warnings.

Change the pop and smtp server to "googlemail.com" instead of just "google". This does away with the certificate warning.

This is what I have used and I have not had one problem with google mail on my e62.

you should also be able to send outgoing mail through cwmx.com if you are having a provider that doesn't allow sending emails from their server off the network.

I tried using xpress mail but it did not work correctly. It downloaded mail on initial connection but did not push to phone after. Also my pc said the cert was expired but i continued through that. But it never pushed to phone. Got native client to work by downloading cert and have it check every hour. Works great

you have to set it to push every 15 minutes or something like that
