3125 Ext Screen Cracked -- Replacement Parts?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My External Screen on my 3125 has somehow cracked so the display is FUBAR.

I called the phone number on HTC's site that routed me back to Cingular repair. Cingular is not yet supporting repairs on the 3125.

Does anyone know where to find the external screen part -- i'll do it myself if i can find the right part.

i checked cnn.cn but they dont carry HTC parts

call cingular warranty exchange and they will exchange the handset for you the fact that they dont have it its BS! this is like a known problem now ive had so many people come into my store the phone looks fine but somehow its like cracked, and it shows absolutely NO SIGN of physical damage its happened tell them to specifically note the handset is not physically damaged but the outside screen is bleeding

i'm past the one month (30-Day MBG) can I claim a warantee exchange for a cracked screen? They dont just crack - something must have happened.

I guess it's worth a try....

The wierd thing is that the screen is not bleeding -- i can see a fine hairline in the left side of the screen. The screen has colored lines from top to bottom with no disruption of leaked crystals. I believe that if you put too much pressure on the top of the phone when it's against your ear, it is weak enough to bend and crack the screen.

I arranged a replacement through warranty exchange and am worried that they will determine it to be "physical damage" yet the phone is clean on the outside. If that occurs, i'll be on the hook for a $295 replacement.

I really don't like that policy, if they reject your phone for replacement you have no option to send back the new replacement phone to avoid the $295.
