All right, I've been a regular reader and have browsed the FAQ's & forums, but I still can't find the answer I need. I want EVDO BT DUN. I have the data plan & can connect via USB. I can anyone missed it, I'm using OSX 10.4.8

I've got a V3C, the 'S/W' Version' under 'Other Information' is no longer there. It used to be listed though. My firmware is the original GATW_01.0F.02

Bluetooth shows;
Device Name: Motorola Phone

Device Address: 00-xx-xx-xx-xx
Device Type: Phone
Device Services: , Voice Gateway, Hands-Free voice gateway, OBEX Object Push, OBEX File Transfer, Dial-up networking Gateway

Paired: Yes
Configured: Yes
Favorite: Yes
Connected: No
Serial Port: Yes

I attempted Mark's seem edit here; http://mark.cdmaforums.com/NoPapDun.htm

No dice, in fact Verizon would not authenticate via USB after the edit. I reverted back to the default NVM_FACTORY file.

The Verizon rep I spoke with states that BT DUN is & has been disabled on all firmware from day one.

I can see that folks using the previous seem edit and 1xRTT connection are getting booted off of the network lately.

What's the story here? Anything working?

I also see that I can probably force OSX into disabling CHAP and turning off EVDO, but what's the point in that? I want Broadband not 70k-140k

Any phone guru's out there that can help? I'm willing to work on this and have more then general knowledge if anyone has some suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

I had to delete my previous Bluetooth pairing & start from scratch. Somehow this fixed the problem. I think that getting this working via Motorola V3C Modem and then setting up BT pairing & DUN was the fix.

So VC3 BT DUN with OSX and the $60 data plan works without any seem edits or mods works!...at least with Firmware .02

Although even with BT EVDO I'm only getting 168k (down) with DSL reports, compared to 678 (down) with USB, but cool! Now I don't have to tether my phone via USB when I simply want to check email, browse etc. and can leave the phone on my hip or in my breifcase. Damn, I might need another phone...KRZR price should drop soon enough.

If I want to test Verizon's 'unlimited usage' I can just plug in the USB cable & download an entire hard drive remotely and see what they'll do.

Anyone wanna bet that VZW would term me before I get my first bill for the $60 BroadBand Access charge? Anyway, not going to risk it as I only need this connection in the field for FileMaker, email & the like.

Hope my adventure can help others out there.

Oh, by the way...Vote on Nov. 7th and Vote Democratic!
