Hi, the problem i'm having (and i can't figure out for the life of me) how i can set up separate ringtones and pictures on my xv6700 for each contact in my list. I recently changed over from an LG vx9800 and it could do it. I felt confident that this smartphone could do that to, but being that it's my first smartphone, PDA notwithstanding, I'm just having trouble figuring it out...any help would be most appreciated!

You have to do it in the contact itself. Just edit it and there's a place you can choose what picture and ringtone you want to assign to that contact.

Oh, okay i've got that now. It was there the whole time lol. It was a bit more of an involved process than i was used to i guess. Thanks!

where should I put a custom song for a ringtone. I know its not good to have it from the storage card 'cause it'll slow/freeze the incoming call. so when I have my phone on the cradel, what folder should I put the song in, so that I can use it as a ringtone.

You can either hold the stylus on the file and then select set as ringtone, or move it into the \windows\rings folder. You have to save it as a .wav file I believe. Mine has never worked with mp3's.

Is there a website that I can download ringtones to the 6700? I tried on the Alltel site but it didn't work on the phone. I don't want to create my own..easier to just purchase and download. If I'm reading the post correctly, it looks like I need ringtones in .wav format....correct?

Hey Legendsguy
An easier and cheaper way to have your ownpersonalized ringtones is to simply add mp3's or wave song/parts directly to the PDA. Once they are in there, go to File Explorer--Music, once you are in your music folder, select the song desired and tap and hold it and a menu will pop up and you have the choice to Set as Ringtone. It's very simple and cost free. Once you have set it, you may visualize the ringtones you have by going to File Explorer--Windows--Rings.
I hope this has helped you!

Not sure if this is true with ringtones, but with pictures you can do the reverse application as well... when you are viewing each picture the menu has an option for you to apply the picture to one of your contacts.
