Just curious if anyone has ever had problems with the ear speaker on their 2125 distorting/crackling. My 2125 is only 2 weeks old and was fine for the first week. I then began getting a crackling sound on some calls that would drive me crazy (actually it was the thought of having to live with it for 2 years that was driving me crazy).

Luckily the online provider I purchased it from was responsive and is sending me a new one and I can then return the one I have after I get the replacement. I just thought I'd ask if anyone else has had the problem and really if i should expect to my replacement to have the same issue.

I'm sure I would have read about it if it was a common problem.

Does it sound like the sound is just slightly distorted, as if something is up against the vibrating speaker just enough to rattle a little tiny bit?

If so, this has happened in each HTC-made phone I've ever had. I am just hoping it doesn't happen to my TyTN.

YOU NAILED IT.
It sounds like the speaker has come lose or something and rattles at times.
It mysteriously comes and goes but when it come it comes!

Yeah, that happened to my T-Mobile SDA and my Cingular 8125. Both were replaced by the wireless carrier from which they were purchased, but something tells me I won't be so lucky if it happens to my TyTN. (That would totally suck.)

so the problem went away after replacement?
if so thats at least somewhat reassuring.
i'm not a big bluetooth user but i guess thats always an option to minimize the problem if it comes back. i like the phone too much at this point to give it up!

Yes, but the replacement was an entirely new device. There's nothing that insures the newer device from the same ailment...
