Well.. I have been awaiting the 8525,, but I dont know if its for me..
First off lets evaluate what I need: I do like the phone.. the hsdpa isnt necessary.. but would only refrain me from getting a pocket pc altogether.. because the initial cost of the phone isnt my turn off.. its the monthly payment.. 40$ and no text messaging..? I dont know how I could fix it so I can have insta-push but I digress..
How are the RIM plans on Cingular.. 30$.. any text messaging? I have a 3125 right now and I'm on my "month of free messaging",, I do use the internet on the phone very minimally.. but still dont want to get 1k messages and 5mb.. thats not enough and I dont like this phone that much .. but yeah.. what I need from a phone is a cheap messaging plan.. I dont know if I can leave cingular but I'm contemplating getting a sk3 (LRG) with the sidekick plan.. or get a pearl when it comes out for cingular if the plan comes with messaging..

Thanks..
JeShUa

JeShUa,
Get the Media Max 200 ($20) or Media Max 1000 ($30) inestead of the $40 PDA plan + Text messaging plan. You're not supposed to do this, but it works just as well.
That way you get unlimited data and 200 text for $20 (1000 if you pay $30.)
For more info check out this other thread already discussing it:

You can technically use the media max plan with any phone or PDA except blackberry. As I said they won't sell it to you knownly for a PDA, so be creative. Just call and ask for it and you shouldn't have a problem if you tell them you have a normal phone. Now just pick the device that's right for you.
