8410 Anyone Else

Hello, I recently picked up an 8410. I basically narrowed my phone choice down by seeing what (used) phones I could use with my service (US Cellular). Unfortunately they are E911 Nazis so my choices were small.
Anyway, after doing so, I looked for the best looking, best shaped phone, and wanted a one piece phone for durability and performance.
Even though I had no experience with Audiovox phones, the 8410 fit the requirements I had.
I bought one from Ebay and had it activated.
WOW, this phone easily has the worst reception and sound of anything I have owned. The phone will be searching in places I could use before with previous phones, and I cannot even use this thing in a moving car at all...the highest volume setting is about equivalent to 1/2 of other units. Also, this phone gets really hot after a couple minutes - kinda like the old analog phones did...and the sound gets blurry at this point too.
The battery life is very poor if you actually make calls, but standby is reasonable. I also put a new battery in my first phone and there was no improvement. I would guess this phone has about a 2 hour talk time from a full charge - my previous Nokia 6019i would double that in the same location.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same results or experiences with their 8410's.
I even bought another one just to be sure, and there was no difference. Now, I find out when my bill came that US Cellular charges $15 per phone swap (something they never told me)! Now I am $$ deep and looking at another $15 swap fee when I get something else! What a shame...this phone is possibly the best phone I have seen in the size, shape, and appearance categories, but it has to work regardless, and it really doesn't. I would say this phone would only be good for someone that simply wants to carry a phone for emergencies however, because it simply dissapears in your pocket...you forget you even have it with you.
